Eric Foner’s Reconstruction is 25

The influential and seminal work by Eric Foner, Reconstruction: America’s unfinished revolution,  is 25 years old this year.  I read this book for a history class at the University of South Carolina.  It was a real eye opener on the promises and ultimate failure that was Reconstruction in the South after the Civil War. Above is a video of Eric Foner discussing his work at the Organization of American Historians annual meeting in San Francisco.
